In this article we will discuss whether or not Strongid C 2x is worth giving to your horse.
It can be a constant battle to stay on top of worms when you have horses. But instead of treating your horses with a traumatic de-wormer whenever you have a problem, you can more easily treat them by using a formula that is included with their daily meal.
By controlling internal parasites with continuous treatment, you don’t have to worry about worms affecting your horse’s health or dealing with the problems that are common when treating parasites.
Benefits of Strongid C 2X
Parasites in your horses will cause a number of major health problems that can even include death.
Some of the more common issues that you see when your horse has parasites include weight loss, poor growth, organ damage, and respiratory problems.
Colic is common after parasite infestations and will often result in expensive, dangerous surgeries and even death.
While some horse owners prefer to try to keep an eye out for the signs and symptoms of parasites and then treat their horses, it’s actually best to provide your horse with continuous treatment so that it does not ever have the problem of parasites.
Daily continuous treatment using Strongid C 2X will control roundworms, large and small strongyles, and even pinworms using a concentrated active ingredient that is safe in all horses and easy to add to their food.
How Do You Use Strongid C 2X?
This is a very easy product to use and can either be placed on the top of the horse’s grain each day or mixed in to ensure that the animal eats it as it is supposed to. It’s important that Strongid C 2X is given every day to ensure continuous protection against parasites or you may have to treat an infestation before resuming use of this product. The daily dose is 0.5 ounces of Strongid C 2X for each 250 pounds of weight.
While some people worry about how to treat foals, this product can actually be used as soon as the foals are consistently eating their grain each day. Although this generally occurs when the foal is between two and three months old, it’s important for the owner to keep an eye on his or her animals and make that decision himself or herself. If you have questions about whether or not your foal is old enough to begin eating Strongid C 2X, then it’s a good idea to consult your vet, as he or she will be able to advise you on how to protect the foal from parasites.
Treatment for the Whole Life
One of the major benefits of Strongid C 2X is that it can be used every single day of the horse’s life once it is old enough to regularly eat the product in its food. Unlike other products that have to be discontinued while a horse is pregnant or lactating, there is no reason to have to stop using Strongid C 2X. Additionally, this product does not affect the fertility of stallions and so there is no worry about having to ever stop treatment.
If you do ever stop using Strongid C 2X, then your horses will be at risk of parasites almost immediately. Getting them tested for problems and working with your vet on how to protect them is important.
Use with Regular Deworming
Rather than deworm your horses every 60 days, you can use this product to ensure that your horse isn’t open to regular reinfection. Strongid C 2X does need to be used every day to ensure that your horse is as healthy as possible and you will need to perform deworming twice a year to get rid of any parasites that your horse may have. This complementary deworming ensures great health for your horse.
- It is perfectly formulated to be the only continuous parasite treatment you need.
- It improves health and performance of your animal by treating parasites.
- It reduces buildup of parasite eggs in the pasture.
- It offers treatment of multiple parasites.
- It can be used while horse is lactating or pregnant without any harmful side effects.
- The horse still requires bi-annual deworming.
- It is not for use with young foals.
What to Do in Case of Infection
It is important to note that if you suspect that your horse already has parasites before beginning treatment with this product, you will want to have your vet examine it and diagnose any problems. This will allow you to work with your vet to treat and control the parasites before beginning including this in the food. Parasites can occur even while on this product, which is why bi-annual deworming is important.
How Do I Store Strongid C 2X?
It’s important that you store this product correctly or you will have problems with clumping and other issues. The best way to store it to ensure that it lasts for a long time and you do not have to throw it out is to store it in a dry, cool place. It can be stored at room temperature as long as the space where it is kept does not get very damp on a regular basis.
What to Consider
It’s up to you to make sure that your horses are as healthy as possible and one of the things that you have to constantly be aware of are any parasites that they may have. The most effective way to treat parasites and ensure that your horses don’t have any of the health problems associated with parasites is to treat them on a daily basis as this will ensure that they have a consistent treatment preventing infection. Since Strongid C 2X treats pinworms as well as other parasites, you don’t have to worry about supplementing with another daily treatment.
Many daily wormers don’t treat all of the parasites that Strongid C 2X does and this means that you either have to supplement or continually test for these parasites as your horse will be open to infection. When choosing a daily product to use, this is a great one since it offers such complete protection. This product should not be mixed with feeds that have bentonite in them and is not intended for humans to consume.
