How to Use Horse Essential Oils
Essential oils can be used in three ways as a health and treatment source.
Topically: Essential oils can be directly applied to your horse’s skin. Essential oils are absorbed through the skin. Gently massage the selected oil onto the desired area of your horse and it will be efficiently absorbed. This method is preferred for physical conditions.
Internally: You may be directed by your vet to provide essential oils as a dietary supplement. Certain oils may be added to feed or treats for your horse to ingest. Always seek veterinarian advice prior to adding any supplement to your horse’s diet.
Aromatically: Essential oils can calm and soothe your horse. A diffuser can be used to release the aroma of the essential oils for your horse. This method is ideal for calming an anxious horses.

Safety Tips and Precautions
Always use reputable and pure essential oils for your horse. Impurities and low quality products likely have untested additives that may be harmful for your horse. All my picks for best essential oils for horses have been tested by the manufacturer and at times third party sources for purity.
Always take care when applying oils to your horse and avoid contact with their eyes, inside of nostrils, and ears. If intending to orally supplement essential oils, always consult your veterinarian first.
